There's some new blood being infused into the news departments at two Albany television stations.
NBC/ABC affiliate WALB brought in Josh Rhoden and Harrison Sanford, while rival Fox affiliate WFXL has two new sports anchors in Jon Benson and Pat Moroney.
Rhoden comes to SGE TV Nation from the Atlanta area, while Sanford hails from New York. A third reporter has also joined the WALB staff in Shannon Wiggins, who comes from Metro Atlanta as well.
As for the new sports anchors for Fox 31, Benson is a recent graduate of Valdosta State University who also calls Atlanta home, while Moroney recently graduated from Arizona State University, and is originally from Phoenix.

WTVM meteorologist leaves for job in Arkansas, former WSB news anchor dies
The current weekend meteorologist at WTVM Columbus is moving back to Arkansas.
TVSpy.com reports that Justin Logan will leave WTVM to return to another ABC affiiliate in KAIT Jonesboro, Arkansas. He replaces Sarah Tipton, who's leaving that station to spend more time with her newborn child. Logan was at KAIT from 2008 to 2011, and was at WTVM for two years.
In other news, although this story comes from outside SGE TV Nation, it's sad nonetheless. Former WSB-TV Atlanta anchor and news director Ray Moore died after a fall at his home earlier this week. That's according to a report from the station. You can watch the tribute to Moore here.

WCTV gets new VP/GM, branding changes for WGXA
Longtime CBS affiliate WCTV in Tallahassee has a new leader.
TVSpy.com reports that Gray Television recently named Heather Peeples as the new vice president and general manager at WCTV.
Peeples is no stranger to the Tallahassee market, though, as her broadcasting career started at Fox affiliate WTLH in the late 1980's. She was the general sales manager at WCTV prior to her promotion to the top job.
A middle Georgia station has made some branding changes.
Fox/ABC affiliate WGXA Macon replaced their "News Central" branding with "WGXA NEWS". But the changes don't stop there, as the URL for the station's website is going from newscentralga.com to wgxa.tv.
Even with all of the changes, WGXA still airs its 5 and 10 p.m. newscasts on Fox, as well as the 6, 7, and 11 p.m. newscasts on ABC, at least for now.

More wheeling and dealing at WALB, and WMAZ loses an anchor
WALB Albany finally has a deal in place with Mediacom.
That's according to AlbanyCEO.com.
The Albany-based online business publication reports that the NBC/ABC affiliate reached an agreement with Mediacom on Friday, June 21. But Raycom Media, the parent company of WALB, isn't done wheeling and dealing just yet.
The station is trying to strike a deal with Dish Network, which could drop both WALB channels unless an agreement is reached by July 31. The message to Dish subscribers can be viewed here.
Also, it's been a week since Leah Johnson anchored her final newscast at WMAZ Macon. Her last day on the air at the CBS affiliate came on Friday, June 28. She had been with the station since 2006. You can watch her farewell speech here.
We at SGE TV wish Leah the best in her new adventure as a full-time, stay-at-home mother.
