One of the premier stations in all of SGE TV Nation could soon vanish from some TV screens in Southwest Georgia.
Talks between NBC/ABC affiliate WALB and cable provider Mediacom have stalled. That's because of issues surrounding retransmission consent. Unless an agreement is reached between now and June 30, the station could disappear from the Mediacom lineup. Short videos have been running on walb.com, reminding viewers to contact Mediacom to tell officials to keep WALB on their channel lineups.
In other news about WALB, we told you in a previous post that Stephanie Springer recently left the station to pursue other opportunities in her home state of Florida. But she's not the only prominent personality to leave WALB, as sports anchor Shayne Wright has left as well. The bios and photos of both Springer and Wright were removed from the walb.com website.
